Once upon a time ...

there was a little girl ...

*****

I am proud to share my latest design with all of  you.

As you know, I started creating charts inspired by Laura Ingalls

and I am planning to develop this beautiful theme all year round ...

Since Laura was a writer, I decided to pay tribute to her as an author

that's the reason why my stitchery is in the form of a book

(I mean, 2 pages facing, a cover and a sweet little bookmark)

While working on this design I thought that it could be a nice idea

to decorate a daughter's or granddaughter's room with this lovely set ...

*******

In March 2012, I started creating cross stitch patterns.

This one is special because it was the very first one I designed.

At that time, I thought that there will probably

be a series on this theme (Little House On The Prairie)

and ...

oh my !!! I did not imagine that this theme would become so important ...

The name "THE BLUE ATTIC" is a reference both to

my passion for early blues fabrics

and  to my grandparents'attic

which was  Aladdin's cave for the little girl I was.

All my scattering moments ...

are taken up with my needle

1851

Ellen Birdseye Wheaton came from a prominent Syracuse family.

She married at the age of 18 and had 12 children.

The diary she kept until her death in 1858, at age 42,

illuminates her own life and

opens a window onto the lives of women in 19th century Syracuse.
